I’m pleased to share an update regarding the graphic design progress for Peking: 55 Days of Fury. Our team has been working hard to refine the visual experience, and I hope you enjoy this look at what we’ve been preparing!
1. The Game Board
We recently experimented with a fully illustrated version of the board. However, due to a lack of precise historical records regarding specific buildings in certain sectors, the map began to feel a bit empty—a sentiment echoed by several members of our community.
We faced a choice: add “filler” buildings to populate the illustration or return to a more authentic roots. We’ve decided to prioritize historical accuracy. The central section of the board now features a genuine map of the International Legations in Peking from 1900. This shift ensures the theme remains grounded in history while providing a clean, functional layout for gameplay.
2. Card Design
While we are still putting the finishing touches on the solitary mode cards, all other decks—including Faction, Common, and Fog of War cards—are now complete.
For the Fog of War cards, we’ve added a dedicated section at the bottom to provide historical context for special events. This addition helps bridge the gap between the card you’re playing and the real-world events they represent, making for a much more immersive experience.
3. Counters
The final counter design is set! The game will include three counter sheets (60 counters each) for a total of 180 counters. These include all the units and markers needed for standard play, as well as the specific counters required for the solitary mode.
I’m pleased to share an update regarding the progress of the Iwo Jima Update Kit. Currently, all components for the English version have been drafted. The files are now in the hands of our rulebook editors for a final polish to ensure everything is clear and concise.
Once the English master version is finalized, we will immediately begin the Spanish translation.
In the meantime, we wanted to share some of the progress with you. Below, you’ll find visual previews and detailed explanations of what this update kit brings to your table.
WHAT’S INSIDE THE KIT?
1) Rulebook v 2.0: A fully revised edition featuring new difficulty modes, scenarios, and refined mechanics.
Expanded Rulebook: The rulebook has grown from 36 to 40 pages, allowing for more detailed explanations and clearer examples of play.
Streamlined Historical Content: To maximize space for gameplay mechanics, the illustrated historical prelude has been condensed into a focused, 2-page layout without losing its thematic impact.
Improved Setup & Clarity: We have completely overhauled the Game Setup layout for a faster start. Additionally, we’ve added vital clarifications on key mechanics, such as U.S. Control, to ensure a smoother experience.
New Difficulty Mode: A fresh challenge for veteran players looking to test their skills.
Two Additional Scenarios: We’ve included two brand-new scenarios to provide even more variety and replayability to your games.
2) Player Aid Booklet v 2.0: An updated version of the original reference booklet for faster consultation.
3) New Player Aid Sheet: A convenient, folded A4 summary sheet for quick reference.
4) New Player Aid Panel (Optional): A dedicated panel to help players track Combat DRM, Bombardment Points, and more.
5) 30 New Markers (Optional): We’re including 30 new markers for the Optional Player Aid Panel, but we didn’t stop there! Since we were using a half-counter sheet, we decided to fill the final four empty slots with four new Japanese Intelligence markers. It’s a great way to maximize the sheet and add even more variety to your intelligence pool.
5) Unit Marker Correction (145th Japanese Unit): We are taking this opportunity to fix a small typo on the 204th Japanese unit marker, which was missing the “th.” While we successfully updated the US 23rd Regiment in the original box, the 204th remained uncorrected. This update kit allows us to ensure every component meets our quality standards and is historically accurate.
My commitment to you was to improve the rules and player aids, but during development, we decided to include additional components to truly elevate the gameplay experience. Our goal is to ensure that our original supporters have the best version of the game possible.
Future-Proofing Your Game We want to ensure your collection remains current. Owners of the First Edition who add this Update Kit will have all the content necessary to match any potential future Second Edition.

Hi everyone! Jose Neva here, back with our very first update of 2026.
Our first year was dedicated to preparation and evolution, with the goal of offering the community deep, innovative mechanics and premium components in a streamlined format. During our second year, we successfully established our direct pre-order system and fulfilled our first two titles.
I want to thank you all for making this success possible! Our goal is to offer you the best experience possible, and I have spent these last two years learning and refining our systems to ensure we do exactly that.
I. NEW VISION FOR 2026
Rebranding Announcement: We are officially changing our name from Neva Wargames to Neva Game Press. This shift allows us to publish both wargames and thematic titles under one unified brand. For more details on our vision, check out our updated About Us section.
P-300 System Retirement: We are officially retiring the P-300 system. After evaluating its impact over the last two years, we’ve decided that a direct announcement model better suits our pace as a small publisher. This change allows us to focus our energy on development and ensures that new titles are announced alongside their pre-order campaigns once they are ready for the printer.
Quality Over Quantity: We are committed to a focused release schedule, aiming for one pre-order campaign per year (featuring approximately two games). This ensures every title we release meets our high standards of excellence and receives the attention it deserves.
Dedicated Support: Our commitment to our games continues long after they hit your table. We remain dedicated to providing robust post-launch support, including rules updates and player resources, to ensure the best possible gaming experience.
II. WHAT’S NEXT?SECOND PRE-ORDER CAMPAIGN
We have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for our next major launch.
The final touches are being put on our next two titles! We’re returning to our roots with one new Skirmish and one Frontline release. Can you guess what they are?
We are currently putting the finishing touches on the rulebooks and artwork. Provided everything stays on schedule, we plan to launch our next pre-order campaign in Q2 2026. Stay tuned for the upcoming title reveals!
Iwo Jima (new content and updates): – Clarification and errata V1.2 – Optional “Hell Mode” V1.0 – Optional Player Aid Sheets V1.1 – Additional Scenario “Against the Clock” V1.0 – Additional Scenario “The Western Beaches” V1.0
Sea & Steel (new content and updates): – Clarification and errata V1.0 – Cards Glossary V1.0
Note: Stock is very low for Iwo Jima and Sea & Steel—get your copy now if you haven’t yet!
We identified rulebook flaws in Iwo Jima and have an immediate plan to support our players. We are very grateful for the feedback from players and influencers, whose insights helped us track these errors and improve the game.
We want to ensure every player has the best possible version of our games. To correct the errors found in Iwo Jima, an updated Clarification and Errata file is available now, and revised digital rulebooks and player aid are coming soon.
Additionally, we are producing a physical Update Kit (printed rulebook and player aid). As a small independent publisher, we are happy to offer this kit to you for free once it is ready; however, we unfortunately cannot absorb the standalone shipping expenses. To make this easier, you can add the free kit to your next order to save on postage. If you prefer to receive it sooner and don’t mind covering the delivery costs, it is also available standalone by simply paying the shipping fee.
