What is Valls 1809 About?
Valls 1809 is a tactical-scale historical game recreating the critical clash at the Goi Bridge on February 25, 1809. The game opens at noon following an intense morning of vanguard skirmishes along the Francolí River. Players clash in an asymmetric battle where time, positioning, and attrition govern the outcome.
Command Mechanics & Asymmetric Objectives
Each player assumes overall command of their side:
- The French Forces: Led by Colonel General Laurent Gouvion Saint-Cyr, commanding the veteran Souham and Pino Divisions.
- The Spanish Forces: Led by Captain General Theodor von Reding, coordinating the defensive lines of the Castro and Conde Brigades.
Victory Conditions
The battle is a tense race against time where every tactical choice impacts the final outcome:
- French Victory Objective: Break the enemy lines, eliminate key defending units, and secure river crossings before nightfall. Time is Saint-Cyr’s most demanding constraint.
- Spanish Victory Objective: Maintain vital defensive positions and preserve unit cohesion until French morale collapses to 0. Holding out until dusk allows Reding’s main army to complete a successful retreat toward Tarragona under cover of night.

Current Production & Development Status
We are pleased to share that Valls 1809 is currently one of our most advanced projects in development:
- Rulebook Editorial: Rulebook text for both English and Spanish editions has undergone rigorous editing by dedicated teams of professional technical writers and native language editors to guarantee crystal-clear gameplay presentation.
- Artwork & Component Design: Artwork is near completion. Finalization of the English component layout is underway, which will immediately be followed by the Spanish edition.
- Pre-Order & Release Timeline: Once print-ready files complete final editorial review, we will order physical printer samples and prepare the launch of the pre-order campaign. While exact dates will be confirmed after physical proofs are approved, release is targeted for 2027.
